Pacific Northwest soul on Plaza Río de Janeiro-wood-fire cooking, wild seafood, and communal warmth. Marmota is chefs Federico Patiño and Poppy Powell's love letter to the Pacific Northwest, set on Roma's gorgeous Plaza Río de Janeiro. The kitchen centres on a wood-burning fireplace that drives everything-roasted vegetables, wild-caught seafood, grilled cheeses, and smoked meats. The communal dining table and open kitchen dissolve the barrier between chef and guest. The menu is small, seasonal, and deliberately unfussy; the grilled cheese and tomato soup alone justify the visit.
